What I wanted was a file/link/reference/whatever INSIDE Eclipse which could link into RSE when clicked. I.e. a short cut.

I'm not entirely clear on what you mean by "link into RSE". Do you mean that when you click a button, you want to change to the Remote System Explorer perspective, that you want to be in an Eclipse install and click a button that starts WDSC and opens a particular file in the LPEX editor, or something else entirely?
Sorry for being unclear.

Basically I'd like to be inside an already opened Eclipse, and then open the RSE perspective to a given "node", which most likely is a file containing source members. I'd be happy just with a /QSYS.LIB/FOOBAR.LIB/SOMETHING.FILE as long as it goes to the FOOBAR/SOMETHING file.

Sometimes I'd wish that IBM would believe that their machine specific tools (like iSeries compilation etc) could be open source, so we could peek inside an perhaps even make small changes. Oh well...
