I upgraded to v7 on Monday. First the Software Updates in the Help menu item crapped out three or four times before it finally finished (got closer each time I ran it).

Then, the Installation Manager kept crashing. It, too, seemed to get a little closer each time I ran it.
Only use Software Updates for third-party stuff you installed yourself.

You probably have a strange hybrid now which will keep breaking down on you. I suggest you clean up, and install from scratch, and only use Installation Manager to upgrade core stuff.

I have no idea why IBM did not in some way mark the core features in the full version as unupgradable by Software Updates.
