I'm just slow today, Charles. I've already downloaded the
ZIP, with the idea being it could be used for multiple
installations without having to go to the Internet.

It would seem to me that if the ZIP is complete, that the
Installer shouldn't go to the Internet at all, and if the ZIP
is NOT complete, that it should be complete, otherwise that
defeats the purposes of downloading it ahead of time.

Am I missing some fundamental point?

Joe

Perhaps....

If you're downloading the zip in order to apply the updates to multiple machines, then you really
ought to have a local repository set up.

Download the zip, and apply it to the local repository, then update the machines from the local
repository.

While WDSCi sees only the one repository, Installation Manager will actually have multiple ones
defined. The main one WDSCi installs see, plus one for the original install, and one for each update
downloaded.

As IM copies the 7.0.0.2 update to the main local repository, it will be able to pull what it needs
from original install repository.

Don't know why it works this way.

I assume the .ZIP is not "complete" as you say since it is designed for updating a local repository
and there shouldn't be a reason to include what is already in the repository.

HTH,
Charles
