I do not have any problems browsing or editing with CODE Edit. Designer
always seems to be a little slow as it loads and syntax checks. Have you
checked the Communications Error Log on the Properties window? There is a
long button to clear the log. I would do that and restart the daemon and see
if you can get any clues from that.

Hmm - humor me for a moment. What happens if you choose to open or browse
the source with CODE Editor? Does it do the same thing, i.e.
nothing? That
will at least tell us whether it's just Designer that's unhappy, or if it
really is something in the comms.
