Bill,

Were you installing the updates from the Install Manager (the right
way), or from Help/Software Updates (the wrong way)? The latter tries
to retrieve Eclipse updates, not WDSCi updates. IBM blocks most of
those, since they apparently incorporate the relevant ones into their
updates that you get through Install Manager.

Actually I think I tried the Install Manager first and then had to
uninstall because RSE would not load. The second time it was from Help.

This is what is annoying, if the Help/Software updates doesn't work then
why is it there? I am going to upset a lot of folks here with my next
statement, IMHO RSE is an immature product that was not vetted through
production type programmers on the AS400/iSeries/i5. It has all the
earmarks of a complex video game with bells and whistles and hidden
treasures that if you succeed at level 1 and find all the hidden
treasures you advance to level 2 and so forth. At level 3 the next
version comes out and the treasures have moved location and you have to
go back and find them again. Loading V7 and not being able to migrate
the workspaces into it was a bad move. It took long enough to create
them and since the methods of setup changed it could take almost as long
to set new ones up again. As I stated earlier, I will stay at V6 with
the shortcomings, at least I know where some of the treasures are here.
I'll wait for V8 or retirement which ever comes first. I am betting on
retirement.

Bill
