Hi Robert,

I suspect you will get more than one answer for your question. As for
"the correct approach", it may be be a personal thing. This is what I do.

I do not use Projects, since I don't work off-line. After copying (or
checking out) the necessary source members to my development library GLENN
(QDDSSRC, QCLSRC, QRPGLESRC, etc.), I create a member filter in RSE. We
use project numbers so the name of my filter will have the project number
and a brief description, e.g. "123456 Sales Reports". The filter would
have the following attributes:
Library: GLENN
File: *
Member: <member-name*>

If the related members can be referenced generically, that's the easiest.
If not, type in the member name for one of the members and click Create.
Then keep on adding "new filter strings" to the same filter. You can have
entries with any member name and from any library/file you want.

When you are done, you will have all the source members you want under one
filter.

Hope this helps.

I'm just starting to use WDSC 7.0. At this point my only concern is for
working with RPG related objects so RSE gives me most of what I want. I
have a question for experienced users who can advise me if my plan would
work or there is a better way of accomplishing what I wish to do.

I am assigned a project which may include 10 old programs, displays, CL,
etc. and 10 new. I would like to organize this in a way make it easier to
access the required source. If I create a new iSeries Project (File ->
New
-> Iseries Project ) and add the source from RSE to the project ( right
click on source and add to project ) is this the correct approach or is
this
not what projects in WDSc were intended for?
