Mark,

To turn it off, go to Windows/Preferences, then expand Install/Update, click on Automatic Updates, and uncheck Automatically find new updates and notify me.

I think it's still in there for third-party plugins, like Softlanding's RSE extensions, but you can run it manually from Help/Software Updates/Manage Configuration for just the things that it can really update.

Every day, in the bottom right hand corner, it says automatic update and
gives a percentage and the background processing icon. When it is
finished it pops up a window saying updates are available do I want to
review them. If I click on yes it show four available updates but says
there are errors, but no matter what I select it will not allow me to do
an update.

In V6 I had automatic updates switched on and I copied my V6 workspace
to the V7 directory when I upgraded. Could this have any bearing?

There's no automatic update in WDSC. The only update available now is
the
7.0.0.1 udpate, which
can only be found and installed by the Install Manager. Can you
describe
more about this "automatic
update"?

Thanks.
