Dave,

Try running the verify disconnected from the iSeries.

I noticed a heck of a difference. Apparently, there's some sort of validation
that goes on with the
iSeries connected.

I never bothered to ask IBM if there was anyway to turn off whatever was
happening.

HTH,
Charles

Subject: [WDSCI-L] verify performance

I'm getting frustrated with slow verifies (and outline
refreshes) in WDSCi 7.0.0.1. Is there anything I can do to
improve performance? I have cache on, refresh cache off, and
I'm most concerned about instances where I've already run a
verify once so that the cache should be loaded. Verifies
almost always run MUCH longer than in CODE, so I don't think
it's due to our network.

Most blatant example today:

I had a verify on a display file take more than 5 minutes;
the same verify in CODE took less than 5 seconds.

Do I have something set wrong? If so, what should I look for?

Thanks.
