WDSC 7 advanced is built on Rational Software Developer

Rational Software Architect is Rational Software Developer + UML modelling
and development tools

WDSC will only be missing out on features not available in the equivalent
product.

Are you sure about this? Rational Application Developer V7.0 has been out
for a while (at least since last December).

The marketing folks can use a boost in this area. I don't think that
WDSC V7 includes anything new from Rational. I think Rational is still
at V6. See if this matrix for Rational helps a little:
