We do use AVR. The windows client run-time is free. There is a charge
per concurrent user for the iSeries datagate server, which is the host
side of the connection. There is also a charge for the datagate web
server component, dependent on the number of cpu's on the server. You
need that if you want to use AVR modules in your IIS web applications.
AVR is not cheap, but it's very easy to use and quite fast. Support is
excellent.
