That's kind of what my question was about.

AFAIK, we don't have v5r3 in a box somewhere.

If we order v5r3 or v5r4, then we'd get v7 anyway.

It is just that it'd be quicker and easier to get the required internal request
sheets filled out to
order WDSCi v7 than it would to order OS/400 v5r4.

Thanks,
Charles

I'm sure that even if they checked, you'd only have to have
V5R3 in a box on the floor, not installed on the system, to
be able to get V7.

I called my BP and they ordered it for me. Took about a
week to get the
set of CD's.

David (and all the other v5r2 users out there)

How did you get v7?

According to the v7 announcement:
"Effective March 16, 2007, existing V5R3 and V5R4
(5722-WDS) customers,
who have acquired the program
previously and who have a current System i Software Maintenance or
Software Subscription contract, can
use the 2658 no-charge feature number to order the entitled V7.0
workstation tools."

The way I read that is that you can't order the no-charge v7 upgrade
unless you have v5r3 or v5r4.

Did you get it through Passport Advantage or some other
partner channel?

Thanks,
Charles Wilt
