Just load the images to a directory on your PC and share that directory.

A network drive doesn't mean it has to be on one of your "official" file
servers.

It's just plain silly to install from CD's.

I was wondering if this is worth the effort or if getting V7 is
better. I still have to do this 8 additional times on other
peers PCs and laptops.

If you have that many installs, I'd be sure to look at copying the
installs and fixes to a network drive. That way you'll be able to do
multiple installs at the same time.
