Didn't realize you are using a web server. Is there any error log on the
web server (like any time out exception)?
Just guess, I've never have any problem with a web server.

Thanks.

It still didn't work. The \Program Files\IBM\SDP70 folder was empty but I
deleted it anyway. From your post it sounds like the issue is with the
web servers. I think I'll try installing without any of the test web
servers and see how that goes. If it installs I'll try and add a test web
server.

Can you start the IBM Installation Manager (IM), and check if WDSC is
installed (one way is to click Uninstall in IM, and see if WDSC is listed;
if it's empty, it's not installed). If it is installed (but with the
error), you can then click Modify to add WAS V61. If there's nothing
installed, you can try reinstall again (may need to delete an old folder;
by default, it's \Program Files\IBM\SDP70 ).

Thanks.

Yes, the disks have been copied to a network drive. AFAIK, we don't have
a set of CD's yet. Our operations group downloaded the zip files and
exported them to the IFS on our production system. I'm trying to install
from there.

Have you copied the CDs to a network drive (or a local disk) first? If
not, you can try re-install by copying the CDs first. This is to make sure

it's not a media error or CD drive error. Sometimes the CD drive may be
able to read the first few CDs ok, then it cann't read a CD.

1. Create a tmp folder on any drive, e.g., on drive C:, create a folder
called WDSC (or whatever name); 2. CD into WDSC, create a sub-folder disk1

(must be disk1); 3. CD into disk1, and do a XCOPY to copy cd1 into this
folder. E.g.
          C:\WDSC\disk1> XCOPY Z:*.* /s [Enter], where Z: is
the CD drive.
4. Do the same for the rest of the CDs. After all down, they should have a

folder structure like this:
      C:\WDSC\disk1
      C:\WDSC\disk2
      ... ...
C:\WDSC\disk10 (WDSC Advanced Ed. has 10 CDs, while the standard
ed has only 9).
5. Now CD into C:\WDSC\disk1
6. Issue the following command to begin install:
     C:\WDSC\disk1\launchpad

Note: the CDs can be copied this way to a network server. Then everybody
can map a drive to this server, and then begin install from the server(no
CD required). Any Windows PC (XP, 2000, Vista, or a W 2003 server, etc)
can be such a "server"; as long as a share is created on the drive that
contains the CD image, everybody can map a drive to it.

Thanks.

[WDSCI-L] Error installing 7.0

I have run into an error installing WDSC 7.0 standard edition from a
network drive. I didn't find anything that sounded like this in the
archives and haven't been able to find a support link in the documentation

that will let me post a question. I did find a searchable IBM site but it

didn't turn anything up. If anyone has experienced this and has a
resolution, or can point me to a support site I can post to that would be
great.

Error I'm seeing:
"Error installing IBM® WebSphere® Development Studio Client for iSeries®
  Error during "install" phase:
Artifact 'zip base.v61.stub.api 6.1.0.20061006' not found in
C:\Program Files\IBM\SDP70Shared."

From the log file:
Error installing IBM® WebSphere® Development Studio Client for iSeries®
Error during "install" phase:
Artifact 'zip base.v61.stub.api 6.1.0.20061006' not found in C:\Program
file\IBM\SDP70Shared.

The source for all three log entries is
install@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
