Quality assurance will, as you say, hopefully catch "most" things. However, many, if not most, of the PTF's that we download are the result of users reporting bugs. I just had Rochester close two PMR's earlier this month on bugs that I had encountered and that they confirmed.


I used to work in a QA operation. I can only imagine some of the complexities involved in testing WDSc, much less i5/OS.
