So are we complaining about the price of AE, or having to pay at all?

True - but AE was not needed to do standard iSeries development - and
DSPF design is standard work IMO - not advanced. And it is supposed
to be replacing function that did not used to cost - paying $4500 is
not my idea of a good time just to get 1 bleeping function.

This will be my contribution to FUD cuz I don't really know this, but
- I don't think one gets to pay the difference between a standard
license and an AE license - I bet you have to go full bore - cuz the
base price is never paid when you already have 5722-WDS. Oh - the per
seat cost includes maintenance for 1 year - oh joy.

Everyone go join the partner program, get the software access catalog
option, and download the sucker for no additional cost. Only half
kidding. Oh, wait, the software is supposed to be used to develop a
product, not your inhouse production stuff. Sigh!!

Oops! Lost control there for a minute.
