Hi Eric,

I tried what Claus said to do and ended up changing the wrong thing and
screwed up the whole config.

So what I did instead was to just create a brand new WAS profile to use.
If you click on Window/Preferences/Server/Websphere, you can then click
on the Create Profile button to create a brand new server which will
then go out and find the new PC name.

Then when you're done, export your project as an EAR file. Switch
Workspace. Create a new folder/project. In the new project
environment, create a new WAS 6.0 server using the new profile you just
created. And then you should be able to import the EAR file you just
created in the previous step and you should be good to go.

Hi Eric, WAS is sensitive to the hostname of your PC when you run it in
Server connection type RMI which is the default.
You have 2 options, you can double click on your server and change the
connection type to SOAP, which is not name sensitive.

Or you go into the serverindex.xml file and change all occurrences of
the
hostname in this file to the new hostname. The directory structure where
this file is located is as follows:
C:\Program
Files\IBM\Rational\SDP\6.0\runtimes\base_v6\profiles\default\config\cell
s\weissNode01Cell\nodes\weissNode01\serverindex.xml
where weiss is the userID you use for your PC

Hope this helps

Shannon - Were you able to resolve this error? I am getting the same
error when starting the server. It started after the network people
here renamed my device.

Eric

Can anyone tell me what this error means which I get when I attempt to
start the Websphere 6.0 Server in WDSC Test Environment?

I have moved to a brand new PC, with mega-loads of memory because the
old PC just couldn't cut it with WDSC.

I have ran Rational Product Updater and retrieved and installed ALL the
updates, including the Optional Products updates too, which included an
update to the WAS 6.0 Test Environment.

Now when I attempt to start the WAS 6.0 Server in WDSC, I get that error
multiple times and I cannot get the Server started.

The log files do not appear to show any more details on the cause of
this error than what you see below.

Any help is appreciated.

Thank you,

Shannon O'Donnell
