Kurt,

If you're new to working with NULL variables in RPGLE, you might want to
check out these two threads:
http://archive.midrange.com/rpg400-l/200605/msg00372.html

http://archive.midrange.com/rpg400-l/200605/msg00724.html

IMHO, RPG is missing a couple of things when it comes to NULL variable
support.

HTH,

Charles Wilt

Hm, didn't realize there was such an H-spec. I was thinking it wanted
*usrctl on the file for some reason.

In fact, that makes sense as to why my compiles would work while the
verify would not (our ALWNULL defaults to *usrctl).

Thanks for the help!

Kurt,

ALWNULL(*USRCTL) is a keyword on the H-spec.
You should combine this with the %NULLIND() and DFT(*NULL) in DDS.

It seems I've gone 2 years suffering this blasted error.
http://archive.midrange.com/wdsci-l/200412/msg00125.html

When I verify, and I'm using the %nullind BIF, I get the following
error:
RNF7420: %NULLIND cannot be used when ALWNULL(*USRCTL) is not
specified.

This is a file field with the following keywords:
ALWNULL DFT(*NULL)

Is there anything I can do to get this to work correctly?
