Hi Bill,

Unfortunately clearing the cache is not always sufficient for WDSC to
remove cached information
(see APAR

This is what I recommend:
1. Do a verify with listing, and refresh cache:
Source->Verify (Prompt)...
Select all the listing options on the first page
Select Refresh Cache from the Cache page

2. Check the listings view (at the bottom-right pane) and ensure that the
verifier is picking up the right library, file & fields.

3. Refresh your outline view.

Explanation:
The outline view for ILE RPG uses the information generated by a verify to
populate itself. By default, cached information is used (actually the same
options that are in your ILE RPG Verifier preferences from the
Windows->Preferences option are the ones used). If you modify your DDS,
you must either verify again with refresh cache, or via the RSE tree view,
you can right-click on your *FILE object and select Cache File
Descriptions, then refresh the outline view.
We have a requirement to improve the usability of this process to allow
refresh cache to occur as part of the refresh of the outline view.

thanks,

Anybody got any ideas?
I have cleared cache twice. A recompile of the DDS is not an option
because the PF has 3 years of history in it. I did a CHGPF on it which
should have the same results as a recompile. In fact if memory serves
me a CHGPF does a copy clear compile and then copy back and rebuild all
access paths.

I have this crazy idea that WDSC should work as well as SEU and STRDBG.
Maybe I'm wrong. Needless to say this latest problem is frustrating to
say the least and is making my life difficult trying to convince others
in this shop to switch to WDSc. They see me having to go back to SEU
and ask, "why should I go through the aggravation of learning to use
this new tool and still have to rely on SEU and STRDBG to do my job?" I
don't have an answer for them.

Thanks
