Bill,

I can't remember but I believe this would happen if the field in question
is not used for input/output or used for output only. One of these.

What useage are you seeing in the program source code?

Is there a reason why a field will show up in the search function (CTL
F) but not be in the outline view? I have refreshed the outline a
number of times but a field that clearly is in the program but does not
show in the fields section of the outline. I also noted that a data
structure described within a sub-procedure shows in the outline with an
error;

Sp_Ds:Data Structure definition does not exist, but it does exist within
the sub-procedure. Three new fields added to a PF do not show in the
file section either. They are definitely there I can see them with a
DSPFFD. The program compiles OK but trying to debug is next to
impossible thru WDSc I have to use STRDBG.

I realize that the above may seem a bit convoluted, but I suspect they
are all related some how.

Thanks
