The way I deal with the different library list is I have a program called SetWDSCLib which accepts one parameter, the "environment" I want to create.

The first thing this program does is to remove ALL the possible libraries for ALL "environments" (I use MONMSG CPF0000 after each RMVLIBLE) and then, depending on the environment passed in, I setup my library list.

Under the iSeries Commands in RSE I created several calls to this command passing it different "environments"

Now when I switch to another project I can just click on the command setup for that environment. This also works good for multiple iSeries also because this command can be created on each box and it works the same.

Tim,

I too have several different library list enviornments that I work in. I
know that some people use multiple connections for each enviornment. But
I don't do it that way. Ususally, each time I work with a new "company",
I create a user action that runs the CHGLIBL command. I also setup a
filter pool for just about everyone that I do work with.

Just some thoughts...

[WDSCI-L] WDSC as a complete work environment

Hello all,
I currently program and support green screen ERP apps. Half of what I do
is not actually programming, it's viewing and updating data via SQL and
DBU, working with jobs, changing lib lists every 15 minutes depending on
which company(we have multiple on the same machine) I'm working with, etc.
The list goes on and on. I have been learning and using the RSE
environment for writing RPG code and some debugging type functions. My
question is: Do you use WDSC for all the other iSeries related functions
we programmers use on a daily basis? I find I keep switching back and
forth between WDSC and green screen.
Thanks, Tim
