I use a similar method for commenting blocks. If I need to comment a
large number of lines, but some skip some, I use the block select as
detailed by Adrian, and then the Selected > Overlay with Selection option
(shortcut Alt+Z).

Start by commenting out a few lines manually. Then rectangle select >1
lines of *****. I usually try to guess the smallest block I'll be
commenting at a time - usually two or three lines. Then, you can cursor
down to the next block you need to comment, and hit Alt+Z, repeating as
necessary.

1.- The OO command should work in LPEX as well.

2.- Paste should also work. Ensure you set "Column sensitive editing",
so the original lines are not shifted right.

2.- In LPEX you can select a rectangle block (Alt+R at each of its two
diagonally-opposite corners), then Esc to go to the LPEX command line
and enter:

   block fill *

or alternatively, after the rectangle selection was done, right-mouse
click to bring up the pop-up menu, Selected > Fill selection > *.

When we comment out blocks of code, we use "*****" in column 7.
I can't do this efficiently in LPEX. Instead, I have to leave
LPEX, open the member in SEU, create a line with **** and copy this
line over the lines of code with "OO".
This is totally ridiculous. There must be another way.
