you can also change the positioning of the perspective and view list.

Mine are docked on the left, without text, which is exactly the same as in 
version 5.1.2 IIRC.

(right-click the perspective bar, you'll find the options there...)

You can increase the size of the tab that contains the active 
perspectives by dragging the left side to the left. Then you can see all 
active perspectives.
