Hi Tom,

Sorry about the delay in the reply for this. I am told that there are 4
reasons that RSEF1002 gets issued:
1. Firewall blocking DDM server connection (either installed on PC or in
the network)
2. DDM host server is not started
3. User is not authorized to DDM host server
4. Exit program on DDM host server that prevents all or some of the
traffic
I have also opened APAR SE26491 to get the message updated to be more
useful.

thanks,

Hope someone can help.

We have just started using WDSC and have installed version 6.0.1 and have
applied all latest updates to build 20050725_1800.

We are at Version 5.3 Operating System Level on the Iseries.

Performed the following when using WDCS.

1. Created New connection to our Iseries.
2. Created Member Filter to list source members from a specified
library on the iseries.
3. Everything Fine so far.
4. Right Click a selected Source Member, Select Open With, followed by
Remote Systems LPEX Editor.

After this the following message is displayed:

RSEF10022.
Operation Failed. File System input or output error.

Selecting the Details button just shows the text of Message Reported from
file system.

We are unable to edit or view any Source members direct from the I
series,
because of the above message.

Can you please help us with why the above is happening.

Many thanks,

Tom
