× The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.

I know that's a work around.  I don't feel that happy about leaving
programs running on my pc even with the the screen saver password
protection. 

This behavior can't be as designed.  If it's not working as designed it
must be a bug.  <g>
