I took a tutorial session on EGL at DevCon in NewOrleans and I left
scratching my head as to IBM's intentions. I was wondering why someone would
take the time to learn a language like EGL instead of Java, or why IBM would
dispose of NET.DATA in favor of creating another language - EGL.

Is anybody moving forward with EGL? Why did you choose EGL vs. Java and all
of it's related technologies?

I assume you've looked at the WDSC help? Put EGL in the search field -
you'll find the EGL Reference Guide for iSeries. And do a google on "egl
site:ibm.com" and be ready to go digging
