Like Mark said Notepad is just horrid.
You can try editpad lite http://www.editpadpro.com/editpadlite.html
(scroll all the way to the bottom and click on the download editpad
lite, beware of all the links trying to link you to the editpad PRO)
Free editor with tab browsing and source refresh without having to
reopen the sourcefile. Handy if you are monitoring log-files

Notepad is a horrid editor. It is likely that WDSC's editor inserted
some
stuff like line-endings or tab characters that Notepad does not support.

Try opening in WordPad to see if it looks correct.

A couple of better Notepad-type editors:

Notepad2:
http://www.flos-freeware.ch/notepad2.html

This is wonderful but very, very light like Notepad.

In WDSC you can right-click and do Open With -> Text Editor to get a
nice
notepad type editor. For an HTML there is an Open With -> Source
Editor,
which gives you just the HTML-aware source editing piece of the HTML
editor. Nice because it opens faster and still gives you the HTML
editing
features.

BTW, once you figure out what WDSC's editor did to the file there are
likely preferences under the "Web" area to prevent it from happening
again.

Mark
