I have a question or comment about the add signature feature. (Window -> Preferences -> Remote Systems -> LPEX Editor Parsers -> Add signature to changed lines)

When we are modifying source from our vendor's ERP suite, we follow some of their philosophies on coding. We never delete or change lines. We always add new lines and comment out the old ones. When we do that, we add a change mark in positions 1-5 such that added lines are in position 1-2 and removed lines are in position 4-5.

If I enable the signature, it ALWAYS puts it in positions 1-2. The problem is if I'm commenting out a previous enhancement, I cannot overwrite the previous change mark. The signature does just that. Even if I move the new signature over to position 4-5, it gets put back as soon as I leave that line.

Is there any way around this? Or am I stuck remembering to add my change mark every time?

TIA!
