The question and the answer lay in whether or not DB2 UDB for LUW
supports a pre-compiler for RPG, particularly VA RPG.

I believe the answer is no. Beginning on like page 8 of the Application
Building Guide is a long list of languages supported by the pre-compiler
for various Operating Systems and nowhere is RPG listed in any form.

The DB2 UDB for LUW does not support a "native" IO method, if that's
what you are asking.
