RE: Quantum DB perspective

Not Sure.

Message description for SQL0901 "DSPMSGD RANGE(SQL0901) MSGF(QSQLMSG)" just
says "SQL System Error".

You could try and track down the server database job to find the specific
error. 

There should be a QZDASOINIT job in QUSRWRK than did the database access for
that request, so look for one running under your userid, and look at the job
log. 

Sometimes its easier to track these down via ops nav, as that will display
the current user.

That worked great.

But, let me be so free to ask another thing....

I would like to compare the Quantum DB perspective with the Data
perspective. Unfortunately I cannot get a connection to work in my data
perspective. I am using the same settings as within the Quantum perspective
but instead of setting up a bookmark for my DIJKBV library I am now using a
filter to set the SCHEMA to DIJKBV. Now, when I try to connect I get this:

One or more problems were reported while accessing the database.
  Problem reading tables for schema 'DIJKBV'.  [SQL0901] SQL-systeemfout.
  Problem reading database 'Sligro20'.  [SQL0901] SQL-systeemfout.
 
When I omit the DIJKBV filter it gives the same error for all my schema's.

The strange thing is that I used this perspective several months ago
(version 5.1.2 clean from CD).

Any ideas?

My driver:
AS/400 Toolbox for Java JDBC Driver com.ibm.as400.access.AS400JDBCDriver

DB2 for AS400

But when I try: 

SELECT * FROM SOMETBL (instead of SELECT * FROM DIJKBV.SOMETABLE) 

it won't work.

Are there any documents on the possible syntax on the URL line? Or is my
mistake so obvious that someone could point it out to me?

- Where can I setup my Quantum DB so that it uses a standard bookmark
(library) or my library list (so I can omit the bookmarkname in my

*Setup your library list on the driver url: libraries = mylib1,mylib2,*libl

- Can I setup the returned list with info in a way like 'strsql' does (so it
only shows the first page and shows the next 'page' when I start to scroll)?

*It does only show the first page, you need to click the down arrow to see
the next page, but I think the page length is quite long

- Are there any analysing options like in the iSeries Navigator?

*Quantum DB is basically a gui for the java database driver, if you want any
more functionality than that you will probably need to contact the
developers, or code something up yourself
