I recall several versions back there was a bug that had similar behavior: the
compile error messages would not appear, and log files accumulated in my
.eclipse/RSE folder. I believe it had something to do with timing and messages.
The log file in the .eclipse/RSE folder is supposed to be read and deleted, and
this is part of the process of getting the error list to appear in the Error
List view.

That bug was fixed a long time ago. But something similar is happening (or
maybe for some reason the fix is not being applied during installation?).

Thanks,
Kelly

Me tool (but not COBOL).

Wonder if it's because I have my severity set high enough to ignore the
successful messages.
Oftentimes I can see the success message in the Commands view.
There have been a few times I've either resorted to 5250 to look for
compile listings or actually do the compile.

Subject
[WDSCI-L] Problem getting compile messages

I've installed WDSCi 5.1.0.2 on a laptop running Windows 2000 SP4.

When I compile COBOL programs, I always get a job submitted message in the
iSeries Commands Log view, but I frequently don't receive a message about
job completion and I don't get the compile error messages in the iSeries
Error List view. When I check on the iSeries using a green screen, I find
the job has completed and a compile listing has been generated. I also
find a SBM00001.log file in the /.eclipse/RSE folder of my home directory
in the IFS. This is happening about 50% of the time I compile.

I have tried clearing my cache and deleting all files in the /.eclipse/RSE
folder. Sometimes the error list appears on the next compile, but
sometimes the error list does not appear on the next compile even after
clearing the cache and the folder.

I have manually downloaded and applied 5.1.0.2 from:

http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=715&context=SSZND2&uid=swg24006401&loc=en_US&cs=utf-8&lang=en

I went through all the steps, so I'm pretty sure I have all fixes for
5.1.0.2. My WDSCi build id is 20040127_1200.

What do I need to do to fix this problem?

Thanks,
Kelly
