I should have said that I don't have the luxury "in this current crunch
mode".  It's going to be a fairly stressful period these next several
months, and the last thing I need is the worry that I'm going to lose a
day's work.  (I am newly cognizant of the fact that this doesn't apply as
much to RPG / CL / "traditional" iSeries coding, so this may be moot.)

I admit that my expectations of reliability are probably extremely high.
After all, I've been an ASiSeries400i5 programmer (and a S/36 programmer
before that) for... over a decade <g>.  The worst loss I have ever suffered
was maybe 5 lines of code when power went out on the entire building.  So,
yeah, I have high expectations.

And I think, as an IBM customer, I should continue to have the same level of
high expectations from WDSC.  This *is* version 5, after all.  However the
decision came to be that WDSC should be "based on" Eclipse and, so, now we
share a common bond thingy with the rest of the world's development
community, well that's fine and good as long as we don't have to lower our
expectations to that which the non-iSeries crowd is accustomed to.

I kinda doubt green-screen will still be around by the time I can retire, so
I recognize that I need to move towards an environment suitable for
development in the 21st century.  Honestly, I *want* to do this!

Last thing:  I recognize that reports of errors/bugs are probably coming
from a very small & vocal minority.  Nobody signs up for an email list just
so they can tell the world, "Works good for me!"  And this is true of any
forum.  I also recognize that some of the problems may be out of the control
of IBM Toronto, and are attributed to Eclipse or other open source
(third-party?) apps that are used by WDSCi.
