Thanks Paul,

I created a new workspace in a simpler directory path and now it works. Who
would have thought that would cause the problem.

Thanks again

Mike.

Ron,

If the webfacing server isn't started on iSeries, your app won't work... but
you should be able to start the WDSC test environment.

Googling a bit, it seems that some people had similar problems caused by the
workspace located in a directory that contained strange or blank characters.
The suggestion was to store it in c:\workspace for example.

Kind regards,
Paul

That's why I thought that he needed the webfacing server started. I took
that same lab at COMMON and it runs RPG code off the iSeries, so I
naturally assumed that we needed the *WEBFACING server started. I can't
get mine to run without having that started, but I don't use the Express
version for webfacing either. I use the 5.1 Test environment.

Hi,

It looks like the server config is corrupted... the easiest method might
be
to delete the configuration, and create a new one.

BTW... the WDSC test environment is in no way related to iSeries... so it
runs stand-alone (for Webfacing apps, you do however need the *WEBFACING
server on iSeries).

Kind regards,
Paul

Ron,

Thanks for responding Ron. We currently have no Websphere Express servers
running on the i5. My understanding is that they are not required when
using the local test servers for webfacing. Another member of my team is
still using WDSc 5.1.0 and can start a local Webphere Express 5.0 server
on
his laptop within WDSc. When I try start a local Websphere Express 5.1
sever using WDSc 5.1.2 I can't.

Does 5.1.2 require the remote server to be active when 5.1.0 did not?

Mike

Do you have the webfacing server started on the iSeries you have the rpg
programs on?

[WDSCI-L] Error on startup of the test server

I am trying to look at the webfacing tool. I took the lab at COMMOM and
everything went well. I am following the lab steps for one of our own
applications but cannot start the test server. I have no idea what I am
doing wrong so I am asking for some help. Below is the entire output from

the console when I tried to start the server, any help would be
appreciated. By the way, I only have 512 of RAM. I have asked for a RAM
upgrade but not gotten it yet.

Thanks in advance.
