For installation, copy the contents of all the CDs to a single directory on a file server or an external UPS-connect hard drive.

For updates, there are sites that have all the files. This method of updating is not well-documented, IMO. You can go to <www.ibm.com/software/ad/wdt400>, then hit the Support link, then hit the "All fixes" link, but it's just a huge list without much help to know what to get.

Someone from IBM, please give us some help on this. I know you've responded with particulars from time to time, but I could find nothing in the help for any way to update, other than the Update Manage, which is NOT an option for many of us. And for multiple upgrades, no department wants to waste this much time.

On the "All fixes" page I entered "iSeries" as a search term and found "inclusive" fix packs for 5.1.0.2 & 5.1.0.3 - nothing for 5.1.2.x yet. And I can't tell what to get from the large list - the references are not directly to WDSC. And do we also need to look up Eclipse fixes?

I know you're all trying, so please keep up the IBM tradition of PTFs that are manageable.

At our shop, we are just starting using WDSCi on a broader scale. It has
been decided to install WDSCi on the PC's of the developers, and then each
developer will get the possibility to become acquainted with using WDSCi.
Now, I would like to know the best strategy for installing WDSCi on
multiple PC's (about ten). I'm not really looking forward to install WDSCi
from the CD's, and then going through the update process on each PC. Is
there another way to install WDSCi, for example by using an image?
