Re: how long does it takes to install wdsc v5.1.2 -- WDSCI-L

You don't have a copy of the program open by accident, do you? There are not any messages waiting behind the window, are there? My reasons for asking are as follows:

1)Uninstallers can not run if the application is open.(I realize this is basic common sense but...) 2)I have seen the uninstall window over shadow a message dialog before(try using ALT+TAB to search through open windows to make sure) which caused me to think it was running forever when it was actually waiting for me to respond.(I had to answer one of those "are you sure" questions)

It has been my experience that the uninstaller runs in about 1/4 to 1/3 the time of the installer and I have never had an installation take this long(I have run WDSCi on everything from a P3 700MHz laptop /w 320MB RAM, to a P3 1GHz desktop w/ 512MB RAM, to a P4 2.66GHz(with and without HyperThreading) desktop w/ 512MB RAM and the longest an install took was around 2 hours with me working on other things at the same time. My guess is there is a message waiting or the program has somehow hung(good luck if that is the case). Hope this helps

Depending on your workstation, it could take several hours.  The good
news is that it usually works fine, it just takes a while.
