As I understand it, and as other have touch upon, the difference are mostly
in the networking components.  Here's a link to Microsoft's comparison:

But I don't see anything that would explain why WDSc or Visual Studio for
that matter really needs Pro or why they wouldn't be officially supported on
Home.
