If it's a common occurrence on your system, I suggest you try the following steps.

1.- Locate the file wdsc.ini in the install directory of WDSC.

One way to find the install directory is by right clicking on the WDSC icon in Start -> Programs, and selecting Properties.

2.- Make a backup copy of it. For example:

C:\WDSC510\> copy wdsc.ini *.ini-org

3.- Edit wdsc.ini to remove the line

VMArgs=-Xj9

4.- Restart. Entering

systemProperty.java.compiler

on an LPEX view command line should return a message which does not contain j9 in it.

5.- If the problem occurs again, a file javacore<timestamp>.txt should be created in the same install directory described above. Please send it to me (stori at ca.ibm.com). If the problem does not occur any longer, it may indicate a problem with the Java compiler.

The change above should not affect performance significantly.
