One of the reasons why Webfacing uses comments is so the Webfacing code
won't affect the appearance or behavior of the screens in 5250 sessions. If
you are running a screen with WB comments in a 5250 session, the WB comments
will have no affect whatsoever. For the WB comments to have an affect on
screen appearance and behavior, you must create a Webfacing project and run
the "covert" option on the DDS source to build the Web pages. You can then
test the Web pages using the WebSphere Application Server that comes bundled
with WDSCi, or you can export the project as a WAR or EAR file and test it
on an external application server.

Thanks,
Kelly

Thanks. It works. The only problem, is that it only updates the field
that you change the value of. Is there a way to globally get code
designer to insert the comments for the entire display? I am testing on a
display with no webfacing comments and I want to add it to everything.

Thanks for the quick and useful responses.

RE: [WDSCI-L] Newbie question

After you've opened the screen in Code Designer, look in the bottom view
for
a tab called Web Settings. Click on that tab. Now, when you click on a
field or constant or whatever in the screen, you will see a list of Web
Settings appear. When you change a Web Setting and save, the WB comments
will automatically be saved in your DDS source.

Thanks,
Kelly

How do I automate the process. I sure i'm missing something here. I am
into code designer with my display file loaded. If I then save the member

again, there are no webfacing comments added. I will play around with it
a little more, but if someones a shortcut, then that would be better.

Thanks for all the help.

Bobby.
