Site Developer is the entry version of WebSphere Studio. It contains tools
for Java, Web, XML and Database. Application Developer is one higher,
and adds tools for EJB development, predominantly.

WDSC is Site Developer plus iSeries plugins:
   - RSE and iSeries Projects
   - iSeries Integrated Debugger
   - iSeries extensions to Web Tools
   - iSeries extensions to Java Tools
   - WebFacing
WDSC also comes with CODE and VARPG.

WDSC Advanced is Application Developer plus the same iSeries
plugins, although there are additional capabilities in the WebFacing
and Web Tools plugins.

You cannot order the iSeries plugins separately. However, if you install
WDSC on a system that already has WSSD/WSAD, the install will detect
it and just add the plugins to the existing WSSD/WSAD base.

Normally you get WDSC via WDS, which gives you unlimited licenses. WDS
is the only way to get PDM or RPG, so if you have these, you have WDS,
as of V5R1.

However, you can also buy WDSC and WDSC Advanced separately,
as passport advantage products.

Phil, thanks for responding. But... it's even _more_ complex than I
thought?!

What is Site Developer?

We're using WSAD here. Am I correct in thinking that WDSC (Advanced,
presumably) is just that with iSeries-specific plugins? If so, is it
possible to get the plugins separately?

Cheers,

Martin.
