Let's see if I'm getting a better understanding. None of this is criticism, just restatements, I hope. <g>

Projects do not support a method of saving current source in some kind of archive, then making changes in the current structure. Admittedly, that method has some difficulties that are handled more deftly with CM products.

They assume that everything will be brought into some developer-local area (sandbox library). In this case, the associated library. So the associated library contains copies of the imported source.

Assumption is that these objects and source will eventually be promoted through some process back to production.

This last is where I'd like to see something - could a project keep track of original locations, then have a push OUT of the project back to home?

It seems that projects are better for the CMS vendors than for us humans. ;-) But I can be mistaken.
