 >> Does anyone have any help for someone that does not have a horse of a
machine? Some configuration setting or something?

Buy extra RAM for the system you have. If you can get the machine up to
512Mb, performance on even a PIII at 600Mhz will be "acceptable" as long as
you don't change views too often. If you can get it up to 1Gig even better.
Memory is far more critical than raw horsepower. I ran (I'm not sure "ran"
is actually the right word - "limped" would be closer) V4 on a 192Mb PIII
600Mhz. That machine could not go to 512Mb and so I had to resort to
getting a new machine (I needed an excuse anyway - I hadn't had a "V" key
for months!).

If you can't do the memory thing, then just forget WDSc for now and use CODE
instead. I still use it for many thing because WDSc V5 is still a bit flaky
and doesn't yet have all the support that CODE has.
