Have you looked at the iSeries Table View in WDSc? This gives you the
ability to use PDM options against iSeries objects and members ala PDM.
It won't work against PC based "objects" but it is not exactly two steps
one step forward, more like one small step forward (feedback is not
ideal and you can't do things like F9 bring up previously substituted
command).

For all the good things we're getting in WDSC, little is said about a 
fantastic feature of PDM. This is the ability to apply the same

MAXMBRS(*NOMAX), I use F17 to filter down to pf-*, then put a 2 on the

Is this possible in WDSC? If not, why not? Just look at Windows Explorer

for an example of changing an attribute that is common to multiple files

with one dialog. I.e., select multiple files and right-click one of
them. 
Things that cannot be changed for all of them are grayed out, and if
you, 
e.g., check on Read-only, all the files get that attribute. OpsNav,
eg.g, 
makes you enter the change in separate dialogs for each object - YUK!
What 
does WDSC do? One at a time? Or a group change? Please do the latter in
WDSC.

Even something like deleting all members in a file is very easy in PDM: 
option 4 on the first one, F13, Enter - DONE! 3 strokes. How is this
done 
in WDSC?

I'm not saying to stay with PDM. I DO say that, things like this need to
be 
addressed for me to seriously believe a statement like "But according to

IBM and the tools developers who've developed plug-ins to Big Blue's 
Eclipse-based WebSphere Development Studio client (WDSc), PDM and SEU no

longer provide the best access to OS/400. "
