Hi

I have read a few negative comments regarding the S21 Warehouse module, for example "This will give you warehouse locations, but also a ton of headaches and overhead." which I cannot agree with.

We have been using this module for over 10 years, and if set up correctly it works very well. There is lots of flexibility in how simple or complex you set up everything, i.e. Warehouse Map, Location Types, Pack Types, Put Away Rules, Picking rules, Pick faces, Proximity rules, Stock Taking, Cycle counting, etc, etc.

Obviously it depends on your needs, but this is a good module if you need a true warehouse system.

We forwarded your post to Kevin
Rieth, Nutech's Presales Manager, to see what his
suggestions are.  This is his reply:

Nutech Systems is the official Infor Complementary Partner
for data collection for System21.  We have been working
with System21 for 15 plus years.  Here are your options
for locations.

1)  Use the bin location in the Item master
file.  This gives you one or two set locations for an
item, but by no means is it a warehouse location system.

2) Use the System21 Warehouse module.  This will give
you warehouse locations, but also a ton of headaches and
overhead.

3)  Use the System21 Locator add-on.  I am
honestly not very familiar with this, and have not come
across it a lot, from what I have heard, it did not work
very well.  This was meant to give you locations
without the overhead of the warehouse module.

4)  Our barcode data collection solution, Viewpoint
for System21, can provide location-level inventory tracking
over top of the System21 stockrooms.  This has been a
very popular feature for System21 clients that want to do
inventory location-level tracking without the overhead of a
warehousing module.  Plus it provides the benefits of
mobile barcode data collection, license plating, and a lot
of added functionality to expand System21.

Let me know if you would like more details.

Thanks,

Kevin
