We use Varsity at one of our Stockrooms, But we use a home grown
interface to both UPS and Fed-Ex at our other locations.
The UPS PC's were easy to Map and set up, but varied depending on the
Operating system. We lost the ODBC direct to the AS400 with the new OS
on the PC.
Fed Ex required one of their people to map the interface, but we set the
file build and transfers.
We currently send the Open Order shipping address data to the Shipping
PC's, and receive back the shipped package count, weight, and Method
from each.

We have it set up so that the shipper on the floor can use a simple
Hyper-terminal to sign on to the AS400, to send the shipped data and get
new Order Addresses.

I would be happy to send you details if you wish.

Is anyone using Logicor (previously Pfastship) or any other software
package to do your package shipping? I'd be very interested in talking
to you.

We currently use Varsity Logistics for this and just received a huge
unexpected increase, over the thousands of dollars that we already pay,
for our yearly maintenance. We have no choice but to pay it or look for
another vendor and I believe the choices are very limited.

Has anyone created their own interface from/to the iSeries using
something like ODBC to/from the stand alone systems that FedEx and/or
UPS supplies? I know this is possible with UPS but I'm not sure about
FedEx.

Please feel free to call or email me off of this forum if you'd like.

Thanks in advance.
