I have been advised  by Geac Customer Support that after downloading a
GA-PTF, you should sign on as QSECOFR to load it to the AS/400 (using their
.exe installer), and that using another user-id (such as PTFOWNER or
AULPTFUSER) may not work.

I find that rather strange - I can load the PTF manually (using WinZip to
extract the actual PTF, and FTP to upload), but if I want to use Geac's
utility I need to be signed on as QSECOFR?  Surely in many organizations
the QSECOFR password is strictly controlled and the person responsible for
installing PTFs would not be the security officer?
