Magic or Groovy both work. I should probably get into the tied-dye
business. I've asked about the System 21 configurator before, but no
help. Thanks and Far out!

A long time ago, in a galaxy far far away, while still employed at JBA
in Chicago we wrote a little gadget that would take data from an AutoCAD
drawing and at the press of a PC button would download it into the
AS/400 and create a System/21 BOM for the part you're working on. It
even created part numbers for you if they weren't there. It was pretty
slick, but nobody showed much interest. I'm sure that code is long gone
by now, but at least it shows that it can be done. By the way, the
people who wrote it are still alive, and in the business.

It's not magic, just really groovy code.

Subject: [SYSTEM21] Configurator

Is anyone using, or has tried using engineering based software (Inventor
or other CAD type systems) to actually interface with System 21? I'm
looking for some magical software to assist with the creation of Parts,
BOMS, and routes. A recent demo of Inventor looked promising for
generating part numbers and possibly BOMS.
