Every Operation on a BOM is classified as Count Point Operation or
Back-flushed Operation. Operations classified as Count Point will require
production booking through each step. Inventory as "WIP" is being
represented as a counted Item by Operation (which is not the final count
operation).

The correct method is to book (WIP) production necessary to correct the
issue. 8/MJI - Adjust Inventory will correct this issue but it will not
properly back flush or recognize inventory value if this is your goal.

Final point, it is best to leave count points alone if at all possible. The
more you have, the harder it is to reconcile balances. Our company does not
use them.

Subject: [SYS21] Where to check for WIP balances

I have a part number that a user is trying to delete the route in on 21/MDM
(using F11 (Delete Entire Route)). However he is getting the message "WIP
Balances exists for Operations on this Route."

Anyone have any pointers on where to run down this balance (either through
user menus or DFU)?

Thanks!

Alan
