We attemped e-supply with GEAC but never got running. Are about to go live
with the assistance of Information Alternatives of Cincinatti. Offline
discussion is acceptable.

That's a loaded question. I imagine budget will vary wildly depending on
the
scope of the front end (web based) piece, which could be a single item
order
form or a shopping cart with thousands of products, for all I know.

Are you planning to host the web pages on the 400 or PC? My only advice
would
be to seriously consider developing the web portion on a PC and interact
with
the 400, only when necessary, using OLE/DB. You'll find better and
cheaper
web developers familiar with PC based tools and server languages (i.e.
Microsoft
ASP or Cold Fusion).

Regardless of which platform you choose, the cost of the GEAC OE interface
will
be similar. It isn't much different than EDI interface (except presumably
edits are done on the web side so aren't necessary going into GEAC).

What I want to know is:

We are intending to embark on an E-commerce initiative in 2003. Our CFO
is wondering how much this project will cost so that we can do an
adequate job budgeting. Has anyone in the group opened the sales order
process to the Web including stock availability and quoted delivery
dates? What components are required? How much programming should be
planned (JBA 3.5.2.SP2 with some OE modifications). Any advise regarding
how large the budget should be?

Thanks

Randall R. Wolf
