We are on 3.5.2 SP4. In AOE we specify price list 'ZZZ' as customer item
type.
We can then specify customer and item and enter a zero price which is
accepted.
This can then be entered on the order line by changing the customers
default list to list 'ZZZ' and processing continues with a zero price as
valid.

On a related note, I'm curious if anyone using Advanced pricing has
successfully set up free items on a price list (really price type
profile).
The system does not accept a price of zero. You can enter a price of
.00001
and unit conversion of 9999 which effectively makes most items free. You
can force a zero price in AOE by specifying price type profile 'ZZZ', but
what I'm asking about is having a particular item that is always free for
a
particular customer. We are on version v3.50. I vaguely recall this
might
have been addressed in a later release.

We use price lists with standard pricing (OEM). We created a price list,
set
it as the default list. We then copied that price list named it FOC with
all
items at zero. We override the order header with the FOC price list or at
the line item. Price lists work really well and can be updated as needed.
We
usually copy the price list for the next year and up date the prices in
the
new list. We use a naming convention as 99U (year 99 USA prices) etc.

Anyone know the easiest way to handle FOC items in SOP using Standard
Pricing please?

Simply, we ship an item on most orders that is FOC, but if the operator
forgets to put "FOC" as the price list for that order line, the
resulting Invoice gets "held for pricing".

Is there any way to set the default price list for an item?

Thanks in advance,

Neil.
