Absolutely, Active Reporter has a bit of a learning curve, but it doesn't
require a rocket scientist to use it. We're also familiar with Hyperion,
but much prefer Active Reporter. The current version of Active Reporter
runs well on Windows 2000, but we have not been able to get it to go on
Windows XP.

There is an extract utility, /AX, that downloads the data to an NT (2000)
server for use. The data can easily be updated anytime you like, allowing
you to generate reports on the fly. (No need to put it in a night-time
run.)

I had difficulties getting it up and running. No! I didnt try Viagra.

Once working it was very nice.

The loading of Win2000 on my PC caused even more grief.

The other downside is that Active Reporter/TM1 uses data cubes, built
over night.
My experiences is that the Financial People want their information as
at NOW not as at last night. This means that additional steps are
required to do another extract.

Apologies for lowering the tone of the news group. Please accept
these comments as humour.

Regards

Michael
