I have done some limited work with archived data and you need to be
aware of the following!

1) Prior to V352 sp3 the financials arhive/purge does not work without
modification!
2) check the Midrange archive to see other message posted.
3) You will need to do heaps of testing and then some more testing.
4) Contact GEAC for the latest fixes/ptf's
5) test some more
6) The Archive produces a library with the required data files. In
this library are programs that will read the data.
7) test again
8) test some more
9) evaluate whether it is more worthwhile to buy some more disk space
instead of purging
10) query the users to see how much detail they want on the system and
add 6months. I would even get them to monitor reporting and enquiries
over a period to determine the requirements.
11) test again
12) ensure the users know the data is in a seperate option and cannot
be incorporated in the standard/common reports.

Does this help?

And don't forget to test!

Michael
